Adopt a Shark
Bayside Rugby Club’s goal has always been to make rugby the affordable sport for families both in and around our community. 2012 marks our 3rd year realizing this goal with the expansion of our “Adopt-A-Shark Program”.
Echoing the same values as “The Right To Play” program (www.righttoplay.com), Bayside Rugby Club intends to create a healthier and safer community through the power of sport and play. Bayside therefore invites individuals, families, businesses, local clubs and associations to “Adopt-A-Shark” by sponsoring less fortunate children to come to Bayside and be part of the great game of rugby during our 2011 -2012 season.
A sponsorship amount of $250 per child will cover the child’s Bayside club dues, their insurance with The BCRU, as well as their kit which will include a Bayside team jersey, shorts, socks, mouth guard and cleats.
All eligible boys and girls from Kindergarten to Grade 12 from within or outside of our community are welcome. We are targeting children who cannot afford to play organized team sports and for whom rugby could be a much needed outlet to channel their energy in a positive manner, thus enhancing their own lives and creating a healthier community.
All we ask from them and their parents is a willingness to commit to games and practices for the course of the 2011 - 2012 mini or junior season.
