Two Bayside Sharks head onto IRB Sevens Series

January 20th, 2010

by Chris Veslemes

Bayside Sharks Chris Pack and Keaton Styles have been selected to play for Canada on the IRB Seven Series stops of Wellington, New Zealand(February 5th and 6th), and Las Vegas, (February 13th and 14th).

Chris Pack, 31, Brookswood Grad, and UBC Grad, will be a return to the Sevens squad after several years away from the team due to work related commitments.  Pack was part of the recent Canadian Maple Leafs Development Sevens Squad that just returned from the Fiji Sevens, and played well enough to be selected in the full squad.

Keaton Styles, 18, recent graduate of Earl Marriott Secondary, and current UVIC Student, receives his first selection to the full Canada Sevens team, after showing very well in the Sevens Trial in December, to get selected to the Canadian Maple Leafs Development Squad that travelled to Argentina in early January.  Styles obviously impressed the National team coaches, playing against older players to show he belonged with the big boys. Very exciting for the young player, who has made a rapid rise to the full team.
