The
player injured in a massive collision during the Bayside Sharks/James Bay
AA match is improving since entering Vancouver General hospital on
Saturday.
David McBride received a neck fracture from a massive tackle by two James
Bay players and immediately collapsed, causing the Premier league game to
be halted. McBride was then airlifted to the main land, and he is now in
the Acute Care/Spinal unit of the hospital with what doctors call a C4
fracture and severe bruising of the spinal chord.
According to Bayside coach Paul Horne, who visited McBride Tuesday
"there is room for optimism and hope that David will walk and be able
to regain form."
He added, " Significant progress is being made daily."
