Bayside 500@10 Fundraising Program Signup

The Bayside fundraising group has come up with a program that will allow the club to both sustain itself for the construction of a new field house at SSAP and the possibility of offering scholarships and bursaries to deserving rugby players in the community.

The 500 at 10 is a fundraising initiative that would strive to register 500 individuals in the program that would result in a monthly debit of $10.00 from their account (the same process used for paying a monthly gym membership or insurance payment). Bayside can provide applicants full disclosure of the details of this arrangement if so desired (please email baysidefundraising@gmail.com).

All monies raised through this endeavor will be placed into the Bayside Athletic Association fundraising account and put towards the construction of the clubhouse. This account is separate from the club’s general account and is also used to house the monies raised from the “Black and White” Dinner Dance, the Bayside Memorial Golf tournament and other fundraising efforts.

In charge of the account is a Board of Trustees consisting of past and present Bayside executives: Jonathan Boughen (Current Club President), Stephen Black (Current Clubhouse Construction Co-ordinator & Past President), Cheryl Foreman (Current Club Registrar), Michael Yuen (Commercial Account Manager – Real Estate), and Peter Reimer (Certified General Accountant). The board is entrusted with the disbursement of these funds with the primary goal being the construction of the new Bayside Field House. Whilst raising funds for this primary goal, there is also an opportunity to help sponsor younger players who have earned representative honors as well as those who are attending post secondary institutions.

Through the growing of a clubhouse construction fund and sponsorship of the young members of the club, we will ensure that Bayside remains a fixture in the Peninsula for many years into the future.

We are looking for all PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE Bayside Rugby members to take part in this program. In order to reach our goal, anyone who has donned the Bayside jersey is a candidate.

The $10 monthly debit has been chosen as it is seen as a sustainable amount that can be carried by all members of the club. The idea is to show regular, sustainable income over a period of time that can be then used as leverage when negotiating terms with the bank or city regarding the clubhouse construction. If you wish to make a larger monthly contribution, or a one time donation outside of the program, please contact Brendan Singbeil or Mike Pajic personally or via email at baysidefundraising@gmail.com to arrange the details.

The 500@10 form can be downloaded below, if you have any questions please direct them via email to baysidefundraising@gmail.com.

Cheers,

Bayside Fundraising Group
