Senior Men's News - Season Preview & Schedule "Onion Cup"

2012 SEASON
Gentleman:
We are at a point in club history that is important and could be seen “as a defining moment” and let us tell you why:
• It is our 25th YEAR (the black and white dinner on March 31st will be a formal day to celebrate this achievement, make sure you are available to help out)
• A new clubhouse is well under way; please see the attached plans for your review. Picture yourself and your team mates sitting in your custom stall, getting ready to play a home game pretty cool.
• The league is challenging “Bayside Rugby”
• We have an opportunity to establish Bayside as an elite club in the rugby community. We have the strongest age grade programs in the province and have only lost 4 games in total in the senior men’s program in the 1st half.
Goals
To win 3 “BC Championships” (1st, 2nd and 3rds), we have a dedicated 3rd div coach Shea Herron has taken on this role.
How do we achieve this goal and what we expect from you:
• We need 90 + registered players (Presently we have 70), if you know anyone that should be playing rugby get them out.
• Show up to training on time and work hard (lead by example not with your mouth)
• Take care of your bodies away from the field, get your own training sessions in and get treatment when you need it
• Pay your dues in full
• Show up to the clubhouse on Thursdays and Game days
TRAINING & SCHEDULE “ONION CUP JAN 28th “
• Training sessions start Tuesday Jan 10th, 2012 at the turf 7:30 SHARP
• “ONION CUP” Jan 28th (AT Surrey Beavers Pitch), we are excited to play Surrey club on club, they have 3 strong teams and they are looking forward to trying to get back the “Onion Cup” from us. I think everyone know that the losing club players eat an onion on the pitch.
• Regular Season starts FEB 4th at home vs. Seattle, PLEASE SEE ATTACHED SCHUDULE and plan accordinanly . In other words go to Mexico during a bye week!
Good Luck in 2012,
Pat Kearney – Head Coach
Mike Pajic – Senior Men’s Director
David Benoit – Director of Rugby Operations
